Reopened for Business

I'm baaack!! I know most of you who know me, know that I am making my return, back into the fitness industry. I have been gone from the industry for about 2 years now. I want to explain in just a bit about why I left and why I am coming back to it. I want you all to know how excited I am to be back! There will be so many things that I am I excited to share with you all.

To answer the question of why I even left the fitness industry, or at least the truth of why I left. Most people think I left just because I got a job offer to sell insurance. The truth is I left because I became unmotivated, I could no longer influence clients to be motivated in their own goals. I started to treat each client like they didn't matter. I thought there had to be more! I really left with the intentions of coming back, I just didn't know when.

So why now? After almost two years of being away, the most fequent question I got asked was what will I do for the rest of my life? Will I sell insurance? Will I sell security systems? Matt how will you provide for your future? For awhile I didn't let this bother me, but then after a few more times it really started to weigh on me. One day while I was finishing up a workout,  I started to realize that I am always really happy to be in the gym! I asked my self why would I not do something I love? Something I have had success and had been good at? I knew at that moment I need to come back and do whatever it takes to make it work.

This time around will be different. If you were a client in the past of mine, I apologize you didn't get the greatest. But now the trainer I am coming back as will be 100x's better than before. I have found my weakness's and I have found the things that I need to do different. This time around the skills and knowledge will be continually growing, the opportunities for me and for my clients have been opened with the things I have planned for all those who will train with me.

What is the plan? I will be teaming up with so many great trainers, gyms, and other companies to ensure the progression of all my clients. I will be teaming up with Dan Wilcox again, who is now working as BYU football team nutritionist. I will be a lead trainer at Anytime Fitness in Salem, UT. I will be working to become crossfit certified, and on graduating in exercise science or physiology. Also I will be connected to a supplement company, the same brand of supplements that the NFL locker rooms have, so you know they a safe and completely designed for elite athletes.

There are many more things that I will be doing just to ensure the success of anyone who has the self motivation and desire to change to a better life style. This blog is just one of the little things I will use to help anyone who wants help or wants to gain knowledge. This blog will continue with what I intended it to do. You will see the nutrition, workouts, and supplements I am taking. I am taking my own fitness to a higher level! You will be able to hear about events and maybe even contest that anyone can be apart of! I hope you can learn for the blog and you can see success and results you deserve! So let's get this started!

The Change...

If you follow my post on Facebook than some of you may have noticed a few days ago I announced that I will be moving to Seattle in this upcoming year. I know especially my clients why I choosing to do this and leaving Total Health and Fitness for now. So this blog post will explain why I am doing this and what lead up to it. I know I don't have to explain my self, but I feel like you should all know. First let me clear this up, I love the fitness industry! Fitness is and always will be my life! I will always be apart of fitness in some way or another. As I have thought about my future though, I've realized that there are a few things I need to do first before I can do what I really want to do in the Fitness industry. This job is more a means to an end. So that being said, here is what lead up to this change. A few months ago my friend approached me about going out and doing summer sales. That idea was something I really never had a huge desire to fulfill. I thought it couldn't hurt to venture out and try something challenging though. So I started to study out the summer sales in every aspect possible. As I found more and more info about it it became harder and harder not to want to do it, but still every other day it would feel like something like I would just hate doing. In the mean time I had been talking to some close friends from Seattle Washington, where I served my LDS mission. I had sarcastically suggested to them that they should hire me so I could come up there and work for them. Well little did I know they would really want me to come up there to be apart of their insurance company. 9 months ago they had opened this new office and have already become one of the fastest growing offices in Washington. Well I had so many different options after all this. I wanted to make a choice before the new year. So I started to consider all the out comes of each opportunity. Here's what I figured out. I want to start looking into having business as a big part of my career. I know that both summer sales and the insurance company would provide this. The summer sales would not be a long term thing though. As some of you may know me I need long term commitments when it comes to work. So I thought that doing the insurance company would open a lot more doors for me in the long term. The risk of both jobs were still there, but the long term benefits were huge when comparing. So I chose the insurance. With Total Health and Fitness, again I have loved this job more than any other job i've had. It really was the best thing for me. I have gotten so much out of that job knowledge, skills, and friends. I will miss working there, but I am sure I will always have a hand in that place one way or another. I feel like this will be the best thing for me right now in my life. The best part about being young and single is having these opportunities in life come your way and just being able to try new things. So for now Fitness world good-bye but I'll in the future.

Back on the LEAN

Alright I am back on my joyful, fun, and highlight of my day lean out! Last week was a pretty crazy week for me, but I just did the best I could and lost .8% body fat, and 3 LBS ended up being a good week. Right now I am at 13.7% body fat. I am doing my best to make sure this goes as quickly as possible. I will be honest lean outs are not the most fun thing. I do love the results though. So I know a lot of people read these blogs because of the motivation that it gives to you. I had received a lot of comments on how it helped you with your own fitness goals. I wanted to create something that could get on more of a personal basis, so i created a new blog @ thedriven23.blogspot.com. This blog will talk about where i get drive on my day to day life and other things in my life that I go through. I wanted to create something that more people could relation life situations to. Please follow if you are interested, comment on the blogs and ask questions. I hope most of you were able to sign up for the freedom festival 10k this next monday also! Enjoy your fourth of July!
